Kinda sounds more like Winston. Or BenMind you, Neo might have been referring to the picture. Column A, Column B. (but most likely the picture)

incidentally yesterday in computer club I was musing loudly about how Charizard can swim in Brawl What about Squirtle drowning? Charizard's tail is too hot to be put out underwater. It doesn't go out >.> Also, Squirtle might not be drowning, as he is "getting tired" and then the bottom of the stage 'splodes him.

Squirtle drowning, ROB and Sonic swimming confuse me too.

How about Jigglypuff/Kirby being able to float in that raceway stage at a speed that can somewhat keep up with the vehicles? In fact, characters not being left behind when they jump is beyond me and my physics

Well if Kirby/Jiggly/whoev is standing on the cars that move at, lets say, 2000mph, and jumps vertically, the force of them standing on the cars will propel Kirby/Jiggly/whoev at 2000mph. Something to do with Newton's somethingth law, isn't it?
Either that or I don't listen in Physics. =)

Air resistance. When they puff up, they become larger. More air resistance. Thus, they slow down very, very fast. Thus, they fall behind equally fast.
Also, the moving things often twist and turn very fast. The jumping combatants just keep goin' straight. This is assuming that the floor somehow both causes infinite friction while going through turns and acceleration and allows the fighters to slide along the ground.

Hows about we just accept that it's a WORK OF FICTION THAT BEARS NO RESEMBLANCE TO THE REAL WORLD and just call it a day hmm?

Or maybe it's (and i cant believe im going to say this) a sort of "Soviet Russia"-style stage, where it's the track moving around the player(s)?
