@cc: You're right, I am getting a bit ahead of myself, aren't I. Computer games first, console games later. And honestly, I'm flattered you'd say I'm better at Game Maker than you, but honestly, look at my work, and then rethink what you've said. I would say that you're more skilled than me on the technical side of game making. (Y'know, the whole GML thing.) What your problem is, is you tend to try and make a game out of an idea that, while original and genre-defining, just doesn't work that well from a gameplay standpoint. Your idea for a "Point + Click platformer" is a perfect example of that. Remember, playability first; uniqueness second.

Hows about buying Braid for XBox Live Arcade? I've heard it's really good. Hmm... I'll have to take a look at it. But so far, the one that interests me the most is Torque. Is that a wise choice? @cc: You're right, I am getting a bit ahead of myself, aren't I. Computer games first, console games later. It's apparently the best platformer game this year.

Remember, playability first; uniqueness second. Wouldn't it make more sense to come up with a unique idea, and then mess around with the gameplay to make it playable? And if Braid's a game, I couldn't get it then. The only person I know who owns a 360 is SoustekD, and I only get to visit him in person about every other month (Thank Jesus for the internet)

Braid will be out for the PC sometime in the future.
Look up some gameplay vids, it really does have some smart gameplay.

It's incredibly fun and challenging, I wish I had the points for the whole thing, but I'm stuck with the trial version.

Not really. PK's the most persistent of the lot of us though. And I don't mean that in a good way.

Also the backbone of the internet is actually Jesus's hair, I thought everyone knew that it was good for at least 6.2 Zetabits/Second.

Well, back on topic...
Me and SoustekD think we've come up with a new name for BloopBloop, and rather shall be called Bluwave. It sounds kinda cool, but at the same time isn't anything final fantasy-ish.
Also, as for game engines go, rather than torque, we've been thinking about Panda3D. The only issue I personally have with it is that it uses Python, and not C++, but that isn't much to worry about. We will eventually switch to torque, after we can save up enough money. But, considering I make about 30$ a month, it'll take awhile, considering Christmas is coming up, and I usually have to blow all my money around then.

As crazy as it sounds, and as random as d00d is, I have to say, BlueWave's not too bad a name...

BlueWave kinda reminds me of BluRay or New Wave. Still has a nice sound to it.

I'm starting to hate the human race at the moment, and here's why- I came up with a RTS game idea, which has little focus on resources and works similarly to an RPG with the fact the characters had skill trees. I liked this idea because it's never been done before. I turn on the TV to watch Pax08 on G4... and I see someone else came up with the idea too. I'm a little mad, but i get over it. But then, this pattern continues, in which when I come up with a completly origional game idea, something similar pops up a few minutes later. (And JFTR, I know that these didn't literally "Just Pop Up," and they have been in the works for a while) But what really sets me off is Mushroom Men: Spore Wars. It is nearly identical to how me and SoustekD imagined Bluwave would be in 3D. I can't help if wonder some intervention from above is being involved or not...
Okay... I feel better now. TO THE SKETCHBOOKS!

OH GOD I HATE THE WORLD BECAUSE THEY STOLE THE IDEAS I NEVER RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC.
Maybe you're just unoriginal?
