Hey, hey, cool off, both of you. The censors on your posts are too amusing to read this properly. I lie, but anyway. You two are getting a touch distracted. You're arguing like husband and wife. Seriously. Take it to the PMs.

On the subject of the game, I'd look if this old computer actually wanted to load anything that requires interaction beyond a forum. But it doesn't today. >.>

Ahh, Eco. Neo hasn't shown up so you've decided to take over his role of INTARNET HERO? Too bad you're even worse at it than him. At least he was just condescending instead of hypocritical and illogical.
And you know, it's the funniest thing: I wasn't talking about this specific game, hence my use of "Bloopbloop" instead of "this game".

PK, please change the name. Like I said before, it's memorable for ALL THE WRONG REASONS.
It's like saying "Mena Suvari voice acting as Aeris was memorable". It's not always a good thing.
Try and go for something that doesn't sound like it was vomited out of the Telletubbies.

And somehow we managed to get on topic again... It always amuses me how BloopBloop topics end up like this.

Okay, currently in the middle of trying to remake a some-what identical engine that you guys just saw in GML. If I fail... I'm stuck with the drag-and-drop stuff. Otherwise, uh... who knows? From my current progress... I was successful at recreating the blue screen of death in Game Maker... if that counts for anything <<
For the most part, we're still mostly in the planning stage. Most the progress so far is simply seeing whether an Idea will work out or not.

Yes, we. Well, you(pl). Now shut up.
Um, the engine's horrible. Point+click and mouse movement? Wouldn't it be easier just to have keyboard movement?

PK, while the initial screenshots you posted (On the YoYo Games page) actually look half decent, the BloopBloop character is getting really stale. You've made so many games that were rushed just so you could start work on the next - and then you did exactly the same thing.
What I suggest you do is take a long, hard look at BloopBloop and ask yourself: "Is this a good, imaginitive, original video-game character?" If not, try and think up new ideas for characters. The design doesn't have to be that simple. (Personally, BloopBloop reminds me of Kirby.) Think up some interesting character traits. Hell, you could even make it (at least partly) human.
So, don't waste your time with half-arsed half-baked sequels to a game nobody honestly liked in the first place. (In otherwords, don't do what Cruis'n did.)

Well, the thing is, that's the purpose of this game. To completley restart the series and reinvent BloopBloop, including a new character design, and possibly name, but, I nor the other two guys working on this game are able to come up with a name we all like. Some of the characters will be renamed despite BloopBloop isn't being renamed, and others aren't. It depends on the situation. EX Cosmo won't be renamed, but Dropdrops will be. (I don't even remeber how I came up with that name)

Nothing sucks more than posting something at least 5 paragraphs long... and then having to retype it because your internet goes down for 2 seconds.
Basically, so far, most the advice you guys are giving me, like learning from the mistakes of other games, I'm one step ahead of you. I've been replaying and restarting a bunch of my old favorites like Sonic Rush Adventure (No point in restarting the first Rush, as it'd be at least the 10th time), SA2B, Zelda Twilight Princess and Windwaker, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, and (Of Course) Super Mario Sunshine. Also, I set Game Makers on G4 to be recorded via DVR, and that's really opened up my eyes on what makes a game good or bad.
So far, from what I've learned, a great game must either define a genre, or redefine it. Another thing is you have to push the limits; if it's impossible to put something into a game, make it possible, and be creative.
We're coming up with stuff in the order like you guys said- Gameplay comes first. So that's the main concern. The only level fully planned out technically isn't even a level, which would be the first boss fight. Most the stuff so far has been planning the physics and gameplay. One problem me & SoustekD can't decide on is whether the game should be complex, like an RPG, or simple like a traditional platformer. In fact, we're in alot of dilemmas (SP?)
Some of the ideas we've come up with so far include -Driving vehicles -Different "Stages" (Think Sonic 06 with Speed Stages and Princess Stages) -Two Playable characters (Thanks to Space for that idea) -"Full Hydrokinesis" where the HK gets so in-depth, BB can freeze water and move it (I know, poor description), but so far, that idea isn't getting much love -Ice Chain, an item BB has that works like a blend between Link's Clawshot, and Sonic's homing attack and light dash... (wait, wouldn't that be Ristar's arms then?) -Water Hovering, total ripoff off of SMS (Well, technically I got the idea from Silver in S06) -Water Boost, total ripoff off of SMS as well (Red Nozzle)
Also, we really, truly are considering renaming BB, but we lack the ability to come up with a good name. The best I came up with was "Aura," and... that is a real name... a girl's name... << So if anyone has any suggestions, plz let me know.

Come up with a deeper name when you have a deeper character to match. Calling a character 'Aura' and still having it as a happy-flappy bouncing blue ball.

Well, using Sonic06 was simply a poor example... And trying to make a 3/5 game? That wouldn't be much better than the current BB games...
I have faith that this game might not be a full 5/5, but it will be close. My & SoustekD's programming skills have improved, since we've been practicing since the completion of BB3. We've made cancelled game after cancelled game, realizing our flaws and slowly improving.
And as for the suggestion on playing gamemaker games rather than console games... I feel really stupid for not thinking of that. But even so, studying console games would still be a good idea to learn a bit or two, right?
Also, does anyone know any good tutorials on GML? I've looked at at least 5, and none have helped much. If I'm unable to use GML by the end of October, then I'm just sticking with the D&D fuctions.
