I hate Lamb of God not for their instrument work, which is actually OK, but for their singing. I cannot stand roaring, screaming, or growling of any kind and it baffles me that anyone can. I also contend that no one with a sense of self esteem, dignity, or pride enjoys Bullet for my Valentine. Machine Head is poor for the same reason, although they're more tolerable than Lamb of God. Mastodon is pretty good, although their music videos are weird as hell. I still prefer the light stuff. Trivium, once again, is good musically but fills me with hate when they start roaring.
As for metalcore in general, I have heard exactly one metalcore band I could tolerate (Atreyu) and none that I enjoyed.
This has been Cheesy's two cents.

On the subject of vocals in metal: Shout-y vocals (for lack of a better term) I'm on the fence with, mostly it doesn't appeal to me, yet stuff like I don't fully have a problem with because there's some form of melody behind it, as with Because the vocalist shows that he does sing as well as shout. Yet stuff like No. BLARGH no. (on a sidenote, with the case of Slipknot who kinda introduced me to the shouty vocals, Vol. III was very much my cup of tea, even though when I got Iowa beforehand, it wasn't. (as for All Hope Is Gone, that kinda disappointed me. )) [/£0.02]

oh yeah because anyone who likes a band that you don't is clearly inferio- hot damn there goes me being a hypocrite again Breaker: Don't get me wrong, jazz is good, but I'm so over it after hearing my mum sing/play the same songs over and over again :/ @neo: I like dance too, will watch those eventually. and as aforementioned, I also enjoy classical and military music

Just some personal favorites:
^ Seriosuly, wtf. If Chad played like this more often, maybe his band would be worth something.

Just some personal favorites: Now that's some music right there. Some Raw Blues Power, I tells ya. Some of them fun blues. Statesborough Blues - Andy and Paul Jamming. Except Paul has a Whammy bar, www.youtube.com/watch?v=SworfQZdkf4 Now if you skipped the other videos, fine. But THIS. You'll enjoy the song. I promise you. Don't mind the skips in the middle. Someone did some bad editing, during the tempo increases.

Anyway, is this a cover version, or was the Demon Hunter version a cover? Demon Hunter's version is the cover. This is the original groove metal version.
