So my new graphics card is ridiculous and all that, but why does it do this Whenever I run something with DirectX? That's Gens32 Surreal on any render that isn't openGL-based. It used to do something similar in Dolphin and Camtasia, but I just checked (rebooted) and now it...doesn't. It only does the weird distortion in Gens now o.o I once had a similar graphics card problem when I had a Gateway back in 2006, except the monitor kept flickering in certain cases. That, of course, eventually led to my internal hard drive's demise when it got worse. In other words, are you using a retail product for your computer? I wouldn't make that same mistake.

How do I record audio from the PC using Camtasia Studio without using the PC's mic? Note that I'm using Windows 7 and have no experience on how to switch the mic to Stereo Mix.

You should just be able to go into the program's settings and change the input from whatever your microphone is to "Stereo Mix" or a variation of that.

@da: Does this mean you don't have What U Hear in your sound card at all? Just being curious. Aside from this, I have another question: While I'm about to write a few silly ideas for my Machinima project using Celtx, I have this small issue trying to come up with better jokes and punchlines. I'm more of a serious person and I tend to ruin jokes. In other words, are there any decent tutorials about creating good humor? If you find anything, let me know. Oh, and the Machinima is called "Boomsta".

Newer windows computers don't include Stereo Mix to prevent pirating/recording music from your comp.

I'd recommend not overthinking it and let your subconscious write the jokes, bringing you to some funny thought or scene you might want to integrate. Then just read it to someone and see if they laugh. If you can't do that, I'd recommend finding someone to work with who can write funny stuff.

Thank you, Roby! Speaking of Sound Blaster, I had a similar issue when I first got this computer back in 2007.

nVidia Geforce FX5200 128MB ATi Radeon 9600SE 128MB
Are these cards any good (combined with 1GB RAM and a 2.4GHz processor) considering I found them in my grandad's attic?

They are functioning cards. They were good once upon a time. They could run basic graphical processes. Better than IGPs anyway.

I have an identical 5200 with 128MB VRAM. It'll run basic 3D stuff okay and I think it'll run TF2 with absolute minimal settings. In any case, it's far better than the onboard motherboard graphics.
Judging by those specs, you'll end up with a machine nearly identical to my hardware-fiddling machine. It won't be good, but it'll have performance about that of a modern ION netbook.

That's good. Being able to run TF2 is the goal I've set myself for this project. If not TF2 then Half-Life 2.
