I'm going to try something.
I've noticed there's been quite a few topics with names such as "How do you..." or "How can I..." and "Just wondering...".
Seems to me that these topics can all easily be fit under one name:
QUESTIONS.
This topic should be used to ask questions of other people on here if they aren't worth making a whole topic for. (You know which questions these are.)
If this is a bad idea, I'm sure I'll be shot down..But I think it's better than the current situation.
Below are some the questions asked on this thread so far. We kind of stopped bothering to update it.
Q: How do u post a IMAGE?
A:You get the url for the image you want, for example --> img44.imageshack.us/img44/2817/banana6pw.gif
Then you need to put image tags on either end.
[ i m g ] before and [ / i m g ] behind (just without the spaces)
And viola I should think.
Q: How do I make hoaxes.
A: Visit either the main website's hoaxing guide or A Simple Guide to Hoaxing in Hoaxers.
Q: If I post my hoaxes on the hoax forum, do I need to submit them also, or does Matt just take them from there?
A: No need to. He puts the on the site for you.
Q: If I change my display in the message boards, does my name in the Digibase site change also? Or does it stay as what it was when the first hoaxes were added?
A: It'll stay the way it is on the Digibase site unless you tell Matt to change it.
Q: What does IIRC stand for?
A: If I Recall Correctly.
Q: How do you get the custom text under your name?
A: PM D, Wdot or Tenebrais with a request. They may do it for you.
Q: How do I make a comic using my computer?
A: Bob & George has a good guide for making simple sprite comics. Use that.
Q: What would the best place for me to post a fanfic?
A: General Discussion.
Q: What is the Karma counter for?
A: Karma is your level of respect. If someone likes what you're doing, they can exalt you, increasing your karma. If they dislike what you do, they can smite you, decreasing your karma. Not everyone does this, but your karma is still a general indicator of the members' opinion of you.
Note that mods can change their karma. Tene hasn't really been exalted 666 times.
Q: Where do you post sprite comics?
A: The Fluff Forum, Look What You've Done and Free Your Sprites are all acceptable forums to post them. Don't expect them to go on the main website, though.
Q: Why can only mods change karma?
A: Well, anyone can change it +/- 1 by Exalting or Smiting. Only mods can give it a specific number, as with post count. We can mess with any part of your profile if we want to.
Q: Is that why all the banned people have 0 posts?
A: They don't. You're probably looking at people who haven't posted.
Q: Is there a specific day for picking mods?
A: No, it's more on a basis of when they're needed.
