Hello im new hoaxer here and i already have a hoax that took me 1 week and thats because ewerything is made in paint. Comments/suggestions/requests/constructive criticism?

Bitmixing is hurting your score here. You've used elements from a 32-bit game (Grass floor) and from a 16-bit game. (Labyrinth zone tiles.) Also, something about the HUD just seems too... big. But still, not bad for a first try, even if it did take you a week. >_>

1) Its a JPEG. Hoaxes should be saved as a PNG. 2) That green Labyrinth tile doesn't suit the rest of them. Make it ornage/brown. 3) Is there meant to be a gap between that slope of grass and the tiles? 4) Life icon = 32-bit. The rest is 16-bit. This is bitmixing - don't do it. 5) Life icon text is hard to read. K, some positives: 1) I like the shading to the HUD. 2) Luckily you didn't use speech bubbles/text in hoax, which most new hoaxers do. All in all, I'll give it a 1/2. It's not bad for a first hoax, but needs improving a little. Also, welcome to SV. EDIT: Gah, you stoled my post CC. =P

1. Keeping that in mind 2. I know, that was my fingerslip, at the beginning it seemed like a good idea... 3. yes 4. Alright recoloring with sonics palette 5. I know that was one of the last things to put in there and i didnt had any other color ideas for it Thanks for those five points, count a new version of it coming up. 1.thanks i have a beta anigif on my computer with "rings" blinking 2.I dont like speech bubbles at all OR if i have to add speech to a hoax then ill: *1. extend screens height by 32 pixels to white and write text there: *2. delete pixels at the bottom of the screen by 32 upwards, but i hope i donĀ“t gave to do speech bubbles so, here are the beta anigif. It is made of unfinished hoax frames: You can even see an editing palette on one of the blocks.

Hmm... small improvement. 7/10. Also, you edited that surprisingly quickly to say the original took you a week.

It took me to create spritesheet and put it all together one week, finding labyrinth zone & isolated island sprites was nothing. that anigif is a beta! and now.... hud spritesheet!

The grass you're referring to is from a game on the 32X, an UPDATE to a 16 bit machine. The graphics between the MD and the 32X are not so far apart that mixing them together should be forbidden. In fact I did the same thing on my Volcano Valley hoax, and you didn't complain then. And maybe it took him a week because he has a life, and has other things to do? Jesus stop grilling him so much will you? Anyway, I personally think you did a good job there, and nice custom HUD ^^ BTW, where is the sky from?

Sky is also from knux chaotix but repainted to brighter colors. On the new version the sky color stays cuz i like it, it came out good. edit: but i will be reducing the palette to 5 shades like in sonic 1 genesis.

seeing to it edit:angel island grass is too complicated for this zone, sorry. but i will be searching for other zones grasses and if none of them doesnt fit ill use angel island zone grass. grass should be something that fits with lz blocks aswell.
