I decided to check out a forum i haven't visited in years out of a sense of nostalgia and was immediately slapped in the face by the cringe induced by the posts I made here during my tenure as the forum's laughingstock/nuisance
when I'm not doing that I've got a job and I'm drawing stuff

Still under the delusion that I can make a living out of music (well, more "sound design" than "music", but "audio" nonetheless); just currently in the middle of getting the ball rolling with regards to getting proper equipment so I can actually start.

I gave up on my hopes and dreams and am now a retail monkey single and living with my parents.
Life is just SMASHINGLY great.

I gave up on my hopes and dreams and am now a retail monkey single and living with my parents. Life is just SMASHINGLY great. Same. Longer version: - Lost interest in sprite comics because video games have a limited set of props/backgrounds and doing custom stuff took longer than just drawing it out.
- Got into webcomics, did comic for college paper. Got burned out because ran out of ideas/nobody was reading them/they were KIPPERS.
- Graduated school, couldn't find a job for 9 months, got a job at a mom and pop shop that pays only slightly better than minimum wage and no benefits. Besides that, job is pretty easy and the work environment is really laid back.
- Currently getting tired of quarter-life crisising over what a failure I am so I started job hunting again, except now I can afford to relocate out since I've been socking money from this job. I've already gotten a couple calls and hopefully something pans out.
Currently I KIPPERSpost with DA on tumblr.

Left Venezuela, first of all.
Then, found the right people at the right time. Worked myself way too hard in college and got a double major (CS & Chem), got lucky on two counts, one that the college actually hired a permanent CS prof in my second year, and two that said prof was one of the original employees at one of the world's biggest tech companies ( I won't tell you which in public because of stringent company NDAs about our public image, but revenue is in the billions). Pay is high enough that I don't even want to bring it up, it's absurd. If my code breaks, the Internet will fall apart, no joke. It's really impressive how much of the world's infrastructure is held together in such a rickety fashion.
Went through a lot of growth and pain in that period. Gosh I worked myself to death way too many times.
Now I'm a US citizen, I play a lot of fighting games, every Friday I go to the local and run Sailor Moon S brackets. It's fun as hell. My technical main game is Street Fighter V, but man I just love fight game. Feels good.
Lord, what a ride. It's strange - I've worked myself to death for so long, being purely content is a foreign feeling to me. Back to the grind, I suppose.
