The publisher confirmed to the media it will host an unveil event for the game on Mar. 1, 2011, taking place during the week of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Additionally, EA says it will also have new game announcements as well as hands-on time with many upcoming titles, including: Shadows of the Damned, Alice Madness Returns, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, and Crysis 2.

Those who purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor this past fall received an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. Details about the beta's release date have not been announced.

Battlefield 3 is expected to ship in 2011.

Early Rumour List

-Jets. They are back.
-Prone. It is back.
-Maps 3 times the size of BC2...They are here.
-The PC Version of the game is being ported to the console, unlike the vice-virca we all thought. Huzza!
-Information and "other cool stuff" coming this month
-Beta Summer 2011
-Release in November/December 2011.
-PC Version is getting remakes of fan favorites.
-64 Players Max on PC. Unknown for consoles.

Well if you played FPS in the last 10 years you'd realise the potential importance of this release. This is a sequel to a historic series, a game of 2005. A series that started in 2002. This is important.

And I really hope that DICE don't mess up by catering to the casual console-f*g masses that hop on COD every day.

Consoles aren't all casual.

I know there's competitive console gaming but i'm talking about the masses of casual users that hop on FPSs.

It makes me feel the fury of hell when I see non-teamplaying morons fresh off the console CoD boat on my server in Bad Company 2, and other larger servers. Battlefield was mainly about the team and objective play, and I don't want it to start slowly watering down, like it started in Bad Company.

The game is fun when you're playing with the right people, but I don't want it to make way for the K/D wary* morons that camp it out in the backlines and don't help the team.


* I've been wary of my K/D as of late as mine was actually terrible, I've learnt to play more efficiently so the team doesn't lose tickets as quickly.


Also I'd like to report that the closed Alpha was good fun, and I'm sure come open beta, there will be vast improvements.
