Well, SV is pretty desolate right now, so let's have a controversial political topic to spice things up!
Tokyo's loli banning bill (with a few edits) has been voted through, and will be put into action by July next year.
The worrying part though is the fact that it isn't actually a loli bill anymore, but instead a bill that makes any manga, anime, or videogame that portrays obscene crime as "adult material". The bill is extremely vague as to what constitutes an obscene crime, preferring to use "etc" in most cases, meaning that it's possible that even things as mundane as an action game could be banned for showing the gratuitous murder of nameless goons.
Then there's the fact that anything with real images, such as a live action movie, is exempt. Apparently you're allowed to show real children pretending to be assaulted but not cartoon ones. Novels are also exempt, probably because one of the politicians behind the ban (well known racist and homophobe Shintaro Ishihara) moonlights as an author who loves to write novels featuring children having sex.
