Mr. Fixit spends his time single-handedly keeping a welfare complex of 52 apartments from falling apart for KIPPERS pay. After breathing in a large amount of spray paint he has decided to make a thread. You see, Mr. Fixit is GODDAMN AMAZING. You can ask him how to fix or build anything and he will tell you how in the cheapest easiest way possible. This includes but is not limited to construction, plumbing, electrical, painting, broken heart repair, household appliance repair, and landscaping. However he will not help fix the following:
Computers Vehicles Terminal illnesses Rabid wolves
For a limited time Mr. Fixit also has a special offer. For the price of food and housing he will fly to your house and fix things for you. He really needs to get out of this hell hole. Please save him.

Say I wanted to mount a computer monitor to the ceiling of a room and have its corresponding tower on the floor. What would be the safest way to route the wires, where would I purchase an extension cord for a monitor, and how much, total, would the operation cost?

^Wouldn't it be the same as mounting a wall, just needing more weight support?

Wouldn't it be the same as mounting a wall, just needing more weight support? No, he'd just need to use a ceiling bracket. As long as he makes sure to screw it into the ceiling beams (STUD FINDER) weight support shouldn't be an issue. The real difference is concealing the wire since it'd probably be difficult. The easiest (and laziest) way would probably be to open up the ceiling and feeding it into there to a wall outlet but uh... There are other far more effective ways. Are you really going to do this Cheesy? 'Cuz that'd be awesome.

I then plan to hook myself up to an IV and thereby remove all reasons to leave my bed.
But seriously, since this computer's position on my desk is being replaced by a laptop I figure I can turn it into a recumbent terminal sort of deal. Not necessarily in my bedroom, maybe on a porch or somewhere with a lower ceiling (convert my closet into a media room?).
If I end up putting this in the closet i'd just duct tape the wire to the shelves throughout the room rather than feeding it through the wall. The problem, again, is getting an extension cord for a monitor cable.

The problem, again, is getting an extension cord for a monitor cable. Did you try Office Max and Best Buy?

The problem, again, is getting an extension cord for a monitor cable. Well, first, what is the cable you have currently? Theoretically, it should be a female-male cable, as most monitors, with the male end going into the computer. In that case, just get yourself a really long male-female cable (or a series of these, it really doesn't matter), and link them up until you get to the computer in question. You should be able to find these easily, but try to go to a generic, not-chain computer store and buy the cheapest cable you can find. If you go to Best Buy or something you'll probably end up spending $20 for each 5 ft. of cable you buy because they're gold-plated or some bullcrap like that, when you can probably find a generic cable for something like $1. Otherwise, just look on newegg or something. Should have them. EDIT: DVI cables may be a bit more expensive, though, if your monitor does DVI. The price is well worth the image quality, though.
