I recommend you watch this on Youtube, in HD/fullscreen.
So what do you reckon? Is this the kind of real-time lighting we can expect in the next generation of games?

I think I just shat myself with glee. That is some seriously impressive stuff. Would be nice to see how it performs in an actual game environment rather than one set up to highlight these features. For me, I'm interested in how this sort of thing will contribute to the up-and-coming generation of GPU-based pre-rendered video renderers.

I'd find myself a hell of a lot more impressed if it didn't seem like the replacement for brown was blurry for 'realism'. I mean really you don't have to apply depth of field effects to absolutely everything, it's not realistic at all except to the incredibly short sighted - I mean generally you apply such an effect to the thing you're not supposed to be focusing on...

NO ONE CARES GIVE ME GOOD GAMES NOT PRETTY ONES
EDIT: And this will need to actually be used in a game before it convinces anyone. Prerendered video clips don't show anything about an engine's actual runtime efficiency.

It says they were recorded in real-time, but of course that could just mean it's pre-rendered then played back as a demo, like you get in Source games.

Youtube + HD + father's house's interent connection = can't watch past 24 seconds. The one thing I saw looked fantastic.
EDIT: Looks nice but I still prefer gameplay over graphics. Plus I never really cared about HD anyway.
