I'm acutally kinda worried. As some of you may know from reading my Facebook, my grandfather died this past weekend and my mom has gone down there for the funeral. She's still there now, in coronel, which is right outside of Concepcion, the epicenter of the earthquake. Despite this, I don't have any truely bad feelings, I know the buildings are made to withstand earthquake activity. What I'm worried about is the tsunami, since my mom is staying at my late grandfather's house and it's like right there on the shore. We've tried calling landlines and through Skype, but all communication seems to be down. We have faith that everyone's alright (I have two cousins, an aunt, and an uncle living in the same house), but we're worried about the house. I mena, the last thing we need after grandpa's death is something like this. So, if anyone here has information, please leave it here, ASAP. Thanks. EDIT: According to this site ( here's a better map), there was a 6.9 aftershock off the coast of the Bio-Bio River, which is right in Coronel's general location.

Well Breaker, I of course hope all your family are OK and that you're able to contact them soon.

The family was able to get in touch with a cousin in Santiago (who is also okay). They were all able to evacuate alright up into the hills, but they don't know what damage was been done to the house. They're going to spend the night up in the hills to avoid aftershocks and any tsunamis.

I hear the eastern coast of Aus also has a tsunami warning.

I think people living on the coast have been told to keep off the beaches but I don't think it's going to be anything really serious.
I may be wrong though, I sort of live on the other side of the world to where this tsunami will hit.
