That's pretty stupid, but not as bad as what I saw in the paper: Two dumb teenagers, standing in the middle of a frozen pond, jumping up and down and bashing it with a piece of wood in an attempt to break the ice. Darwin has been proven again.

Unfortunately what DF pointed out was not irony, it was just coincidental!
... I've seen that episode too many times.
Also back on topic, I hope those two remove themselves from the genepool before they have a chance to procreate.

I walked out on the frozen-solid Chesapeake on a camping trip once. It was roughly a foot thick, based on the stick I was able to jam through it without trouble before stepping on.
Since I weigh a light 133 pounds (60kg), I figured there wouldn't be a problem. There was not.
