What I've seen of the game so far looks enjoyable enough.
I will wait for more before I make a decision on buying it though.
Also "even if it does suck I'm still going to buy it" is a rubbish thing to say.

..God, you're right, that is suspiciously similar to Metropolis.
Is that the same music as in the music leak a while back? I don't remember anything this approaching-decent.

Seems to be the music Retro have on file for Mad Gear Act 2, which I have to assume was sourced from the leak. You don't really notice the repeat of it inamongst the sound effects and watching the gameplay.
Also that gameplay looks very promising. Particularly:
- Stupid choppy crushy blocks have a switch you can find that lets you go around them.
- Integration of Homing Attack into basic Sonic platforming puzzles (like at the end of the level there - why am I springing back and forth uselessly? ...Oh, right), not at all like the doomsayers' predictions that it was only going to be used for chaining enemies across bottomless pits
- For that matter, bottomless pits - there is one (see how stupid player dies as SuperSonic) but overuse doesn't appear to be happening - and this is a later level.
- Super friggin' Sonic!
