I'm releasing another game. This time, it's the WIP shmup, GIATA. Yayayay etc. Currently has 2 levels playable. 2nd boss hasn't been programmed yet, instead you reach your ULTIMATE DOOMSKDFKS. No intro implemented, but the story has been thought out. If you're wondering why theres a bucket-full of spelling mistakes/grammar errors, its done on purpose. It's a direct spoof of Zero Wing (AYBABTU) CONTROLSArrows - Move X - Shoot Z - Charge (WIP) Enter - Pause DOWNLOADS19/12/09Now for the big question - should I continue this or is it so crap it deserves to rot? Leave a comment. And just for fun, my high score is 32,650. *hint hint*

Quite fun, actually. Also, something tells me you based this on Mega Man and Gradius. Seriously! One of the weapons looks like Elec Man's weapon! And a normal charge shot works like the Charged Mega Buster! And the second level's tileset looks surprisingly like Magma Man's. It's cool! Although the charge shot sound is a bit on the noisy side, and it can end up looping over and over when you have a special weapon. I know it's a W.I.P, but there's a tip on how to improve. Try having it a bit like an "acceleration" sound effect, or something less grainy. Also, some BGM would be nice. And the Asteroids Monster makes the game quite laggy with the Missiles equipped. As for the Zero Wingrish in play, I love it! "In Correction!" Heheh. All in all, It's a pretty fun game, and I expect to see more of it develop through. I'm still trying to finish up Level 2. Stupid... trash compactors plus droids coming... Nailed it. What the eff is up with the "ultimate doom"!?

Yeah, I sorta ripped the Thunder Beam. And for level 2 I was trying to make it look like some sort of incenerator(sp?), thus I based it off of Dust Man's and Shadow Man's stages.
Never played Gradius - I was more inspired by R-Type.
Music is also a WIP. Seeing as I have little to no musical talent...
My friend designed the Asteroid Monster - I thought it looked and acted quite similar to the Pipi /Flying Fish from MM2/9.
And for the ULTIMATE DOOMSKJFJKD, that's just a placeholder for where the boss would be - I haven't coded it yet.

I'm not getting music. Don't know if this is a glitch or what.
There aren't sound effects for dying or some of the weapons. I understand this is WiP, but it feels empty.
The style of the ship seems to contrast with everything else.
I understand what you're going for with the Zero Wingrish, but 'Parse the Word' just sounds SMASHINGLY weird.
You need to put more enemies in empty areas.
Otherwise, solid.
More will come once I play a bit more.

You're not getting music because I haven't made it yet. Or at least, put it in the game. I have made some music, but IMO it isn't up to standard yet. But I'm working on it Also working on the SFX. Um... right. How? Any more suggestions for 'Parse the Word'? kk. Cheers

I meant in regards to the sprites. The ship just looks like a completely different style, and also fairly flat as opposed to the enemies and scenery.
