BB's power of communism grants his Mac superior power. This is the only possible explanation.

Put disposable tights over your fans. They act as filters. Failing that, dust filters probably work, too. Does that noticeably decrease airflow? Because my PC's coolants fail miserably at everything. What cooling setup do you have? Dust filters don't decrease airflow. As long as than fan is pulling, its going to pull whatever it can through those filters. It's effectively creating a vacuum so air gets pulled in either way.

It's a stock cooling system on a Dell prefab PC. As far as I can tell, that consists of one case fan and one fan for the GPU. Both are rather cheap-looking.

Airflow is the only possible way I can keep this piece of garbage from melting, essentially. The last thing I want to do is decrease it.

You still havent really described how your cooling works but okay.
Does the Graphics card exhaust out of the back of the PC or into the PC?
Is the PSU at the top or bottom?
What direction is the CPU Heatsink's Fan pointing?
Where is the case fan positioned?

If it's not too expensive, then go for it.
...How much are RAM chips these days?

DDR2 prices are stable, but I've noticed them very slowly increasing in price. I saw 4GB of Corsair XMS2 1066MHz DDR2 RAM on OcUK for £50, which is pretty well, considering 2GB is about £30 these days.
I have til midnight to make this purchase. SHALL I DO IT?
