I really don't understand. This is the second time you've said this. Do you have some kind of disorder where you can't turn your eyes? Perhaps he's not heard of sitting further away from your monitor than 3 inches? Oh, right, sorry. Didn't mean to offend you CC.

Only problem with that monitor is that you'd have to turn your head about fifty degrees just to look at your ammo count. Yeah uh...what is wrong with you?

WHAT'S THE QUICKEST WAY TO CHECK HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY OR IS IT NOT AS IMPORTANT THESE DAYS? Iunno, ask us? Depends on the hardware in question and its compatibility with what. If you're looking at what hardware you can shove in your PC and have it still work, best thing to look at is what your motherboard supports.

Good luck with the project, but why bother starting with a PC like that when more powerful hardware is so cheap?

but why bother starting with a PC like that when more powerful hardware is so cheap? What I want really is to gain experience in PC building. If I can get some practice with PC building on this old, crappy machine, then I'll be less at risk from messing everything up when I start building a proper one for gaming. HNNNNGGGGG

Oh god a Pentium 4 based Celeron from 2002. It's like Zae's old computer.

I actually have a near-identical Packard Bell iExtreme in storage somewhere. I used to use it as a rendering machine but there's no way I'd spend any money on it these days.

Oh god a Pentium 4 based Celeron from 2002. It's like Zae's old computer. Exactly. Uh, if you like, CC, I'd say don't buy new stuff. Just practise removing and reinstalling bits. Graphics cards are just pushed in. Get used to screwing things in and out. Where things slide and are placed etc.

I didn't plan on buying much stuff really. My grandad has like 30 unused DDR1 ram chips, and my local freecycle group is one of the most active in the country.

Get used to screwing things in and out. I shouldn't even have to say it...
