Phenom X4 and GTX 275 for the win.
Ah what the hell. Might as well show my specs.
Phenom X4 Quad-core at 2.4 GHz Overclocked GTX 275 running at a frequency I forget 4 GB of RAM (Reduced to however much 32 bits can use.. about 3.5 GB if I remember right) 1x 640 GB HDD + 1x 10GB HDD Blu-Ray reader Running Windows 7 and Fedora 12 dual-boot
Cost about as much as Gloucestershire.

HDMI cable arrived, 1080p on the PS3 suuuure makes the menus pretty. Gonna get some GAYMS IN now.
Also does the analogue output work whilst the HDMI is active?

You could do better than that PSU. I got my 600W SLI ready (2 x PCI-E, as most high end cards require 2 PCI-E power plugs each) PSU for about £30 from eBuyer. Ticks all my boxes but has added some noticeable sound to the machine. Nothing intrusive, though.

You could do better than that PSU. I got my 600W SLI ready (2 x PCI-E, as most high end cards require 2 PCI-E power plugs each) PSU for about £30 from eBuyer. Ticks all my boxes but has added some noticeable sound to the machine. Nothing intrusive, though. With PSU's the brand is quite genuinely more important than the 'rated wattage'. With some crappier manufacturers they get their rating from testing in unrealistic environments. I'm not sure I've ever seen a £30 600W PSU worth buying...

It's certainly not a brand name, but it does the job so far. Time will tell, I guess. In any case, it was somewhat of an emergency buy when I bought my GTX 275 and then realised in a colossal "Oh bollocks" moment that my PSU didn't actually support it. That's what happens when nVidia's information pages suck.
What the hell? this is the Fluff forum's 100,000th post..
