RockFREE is a free online game by Acclaim. It's pretty much a Guitar Hero flash clone (you can even upload songs in the Frets on Fire format!), but it's... you know... online, unlike most other clones. Create your rocker, play a couple of songs and earn "fans" (your experience in this game) to raise your levels and start unlocking some fun features.
Basically, I'm inviting you all to join because I want to play against people and I don't want to join a random room, God knows who I'd find there.
The BAD:
- You have to level up before you can do convenient things like joining rooms, creating rooms or earning higher difficulty levels
- It's still in open beta, which means there might be a few unexpected glitches
- Default controls aren't the best, but you can always reconfigure them
- Probably some other details that my mind is filtering out just to get you to sign up-- Oh, yeah, you have to pay real money for some clothing items that boost your EXP rate and stuff.
The GOOD:
- The first four or five levels are earned in a very short amount of time, and that's when you get the ability to create/join a room (wink, wink)
- I haven't really encountered any game-breaking bugs in the week I've been playing for
- I hear you can use your Guitar Hero controller for this, but don't ask me how
- You can still buy a lot of items with in-game money
- A large selection of songs to choose from already! And, after you gain a few more levels, you can upload your own!
So yeah, join this, gain a level or three and then start bugging me so we can all play together. I'm not that good, so I'm perfect if you need an ego boost! My ingame name is FourEyes, so if you see I have a club open (it should have, you know... my name), feel free to join. If you have any more questions, go ahead, but the game has a pretty helpful tutorial already.
