You know the drill, since some of us members are from non-English speaking countries, we had to adapt. So, how did you learn to speak it, and/or write it?
Me? I learned it by watching Bugs Bunny cartoons on English, with English closed captioning, on a pirated version of English DirectTV. (I miss it)
I also thank my brother a bit, and my kick ass English teacher that taught me and our class top-notch English on 2nd to 3rd grade (She was British, 'nuff said) and my English teacher from 4th to 5th grade, who got kicked out of school for "just making detention". He was the best teacher there. The others, well, let's just say that in 6th grade, we got a lawyer who taught us jack KIPPERS, and was arrogant, and a drama queen.
I also thank videogames (Hey, I wouldn't be able to beat them without knowing English, they taught me. SPECIALLY text adventures), and the Internet. Like, I'm still knowing a bit thanks to the net, like what's a navel, a grating, etc. And there's even some words that I know their meaning in English, yet I don't know their meaning in Spanish! Talk about WTF.
I actually enjoy speaking, thinking, and writing more in English. I somehow feel it's slightly more efficient.
¿Cómo aprendiste inglés? !(damn keyboard won't let me write an upside down "!") Postea (yes, Posting has been transformed into postea) tus experiencias!

I can't remember my childhood and I'm glad for it. But I do know that English wasn't my first language. Not soon after going into education, though, I began to speak more English very quickly. Quick transition, as it were. I used to read a lot, usually long and complicated texts, so that was an influence in my current speech. Meh. I don't even count in this thread

My mother is an english teacher. 'nuff said. I always had some awesome english teachers too. Oh, and I've learned a lot from video games. Also: And there's even some words that I know their meaning in English, yet I don't know their meaning in Spanish! Talk about WTF. This, except replace Spanish with Portuguese of course. I don't know how to say "rampage" in Portuguese.

Aren't you American? As in, English is your first language? I'd suspect he's like me. Born in an English speaking country, siblings speak English, brought up knowing both mother tongue and English.
