Do magnetic credit cards set off metal detectors?

Sorry to rain on everybody's parade of speculation, but I happen to have Ben Stone's wallet right here. There was nothing in this wallet but Mr. Stone's ID, and no fingerprints aside from Mr. Stone's on or in it. As the detective stated, nothing but this wallet and the presumed murder weapon were on the victim.

I think Dooms just doesn't know how to properly handle a metal detector. Wait, was Mr. Stone a holder of any credit/debit cards?

Apparently, no.

How do you know that it was the body that set off the metal detector? What if it was some misc metal object near the body that is unrelated to the case and not taken as evidence? The detectives would have taken note of anything near the body, suspicious or not. Following Doomsday's discovery using the metal detector, the police should have immediately tried to figure out why she found it. You never know... Doomsday may have known where the body was because she put it there herself.

I find that a bit strange, unless the murderer took his money, as well as his life. Most people don't walk around with an empty wallet.

The first witness seemed to imply that this murder was not premeditated. So, if Eco were in fact the murderer, he'd have left fingerprints on that wallet. He wouldn't have been prepared with gloves. If you're saying that the motive for murder was money, then the killer was most likely not Eco.

It finally dawned on me what might have sent Dooms' metal detector off (yes i am still on that shut up); according the testimonies, the scene of the crime was in the park, at the park bench. Most parks have some kind of plumbing or electrical wiring running underneath them, which the detector could have picked up easily, especially since said causes are often laid out around the exterior of the park. That, or deadbolts in the ground to secure the bench could have set it off.
god damn im such a loud juror
