On a related note, one of my friends, who happens to be a Twilight fan, told me that Stephanie Meyer uses the expression "I lolled" in Breaking Dawn. Is lol seriously a real SMASHINGLY verb now or does Meyer just suck?

Still, to assume that a serious author (as serious as Mary-Sue fiction can be) would use internet slang in her writing rather than looking up the word used is a bit silly.
