I've really taken a liking to classical music lately. This orchestral rendition of Toccata and Fugue in D minor is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard:

It's just so big, and so dramatic the whole way through, very epic.
I was wondering when I'd see some classical music here. *thumbs up*
It's on the first page >>
Now I actually listen to REAL metal.
Y'know, the type that is hardly made anymore. All from the 70s and 80s.
I like mah neo-classical, shred, jazz, fusion, I'm a heavy believer in the blues. I also enjoy old school rock and roll because it['s just fun music. And by fun I mean enjoyable to watch and enjoyable to play too.
Uh, I got a few Avenged Sevenfold albums. Not really listened to them much, but I like Bat Country. Kinda fits closer to the old school metal scene, I'll listen to some more.
Some Muse songs are awesome.
Fade has made me realise that all Feeder songs are awesome. He also gave me some Offspring which I've listened to before, ain't too bad either.
I nearly got into Megadeth, but the singer's vocals were just to... shrill and wet for me. That's only based off the album "Rust in Peace" though.
As for moar old school awesome rock and ballads, I like some Mr. Big every so often, might switch to some Queen, Led Zeppelin for some easy listening. AC/DC was that fun rock I was talking about.
Van Halen are fun to listen to when you need a pick me up, it's just ECH's guitar playing that sounds sonically epic.
Also pleasing to my ears is Guthrie Govan, who is an
immense fusion/blues/jazz player. And in that alone is rock and roll. He is one of the most accomplished players, in terms of technique, and of his one album (Erotic Cakes), he shows awesome promise. He's more of a Youtube sensation than anything, but he's revered around the world. Lucky git.
Hate to say it, but thanks to Paul Gilbert, I like some silly pop music too >___> ... But thanks to him, I listen to the most awesome 80s face-melting shreddy soulful killer explosive metal bad ever. Racer X.
Have to say, his most recent album with Freddie Nelson, "United States", is incredibly awesome because... It sounds like Queen... except with better guitar and... better vocals? I say that because the recordings are clearer. Honestly, Freddie Nelson's voice totally hits the Freddie Mercury tone.
I did listen to a lot of SOAD, but that did some crap to my head... Can't say I particularly enjoy their songs anymore, but they were good when I listened tot hem before. *shrugs*
Ah and of course, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The funkiest rock group of all time. Okay probably not, I'm sure Breaker could find the FUNKiest rock group of all time. But again, a sense of fun in a lot of their songs, and some beautiful songs to ago with it.
Video Game stuff usually catches my
eye ear. To be honest, it's because of video games that I have this taste in music. First with Guilty Gear and stuff, then after watching a cool Street Fighter combo video... I wondered what track was playing,
Technical Difficulties - Racer X
And about Orchestras. They're good if they're done well.
So when I saw
Yngwie Malmsteen on stage with an Orchestra...
I thought he himself could have done better. The orchestra were brilliant. I mean, yeah, he did play
great... But it kinda... took a step down from the orchestra alone.
Still nice to hear though.
Whooo.
8:40am. I'd best get to school >_>
