My parents and brother are massive Metallica fans. I'm not such a big fan, though that may be because almost all I hear of them is their latest album which my brother plays from his room ALL THE DAMN TIME.

Nearest to Metallica I have is a cover album of Master of Puppets (eg. Machine Head doing Battery, Trivium donig Master of Puppets, and so on... only track I truly don't like was Funeral For A Friend's take on Damage, Inc.)... that and an mp3 of One (the Guitar Hero III version, so it doesn't have the guys from the movie talking).
The Master of Puppets cover album isn't too bad..

wut. Metallica is pretty good. Well, the music from their first couple albums. New stuff from them isn't anything you haven't heard before and the members are complete dicks. I like personally love good ol' 60s and 70s rock. Black Sabbath, The Who, Rush, Bad Company, Jethro Tull, Styx, such. Just out of curiosity, are you into prog rock, like King Crimson or Emerson, Lake, and Palmer? I've heard of King Crimson before though I haven't listened to any of their works. I'll keep those bands in mind.

They are quite good, but I must say one of my favourite bands, which most rockers can agree on, is Metallica... Amirite? no

Metallica are actually funny.
I'm into Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead, Blink-182, Streetlight Manifesto, and a bunch of New Zealand bands no one has heard of.

Well, by that I meant that I've been exposed to their music pretty much ever since I was born and I couldn't hate them even if I wanted to.

Beatles are awesome. But everyone else in my family (except for my grandfather, who got me into it in the first place) hates it. Besides Avant-Garde stuff, i'm also into bands like:
Fall Out Boy Panic At The Disco Karate High School Aerosmith Avenged Sevenfold Bon Jovi. And stuff like that.

I'm very much into 80's+ rock / metal. (read: brought up on) Plus dance-style music. Though if you're into Floyd-y stuff, Ayreon's the one: Though he can go into the folk territory at times.. which is still awesome:

My dad brainwashed me into liking The Beatles. OH KIPPERS I totally forgot to mention them. Same with my dad, I grew up listening to them. I actually finished watching Yellow Submarine about an hour ago.
