I've been working on a HL2:DM map of late, and was wondering what you thought of it so far. It's a library. Since this is my first map it will obviously be nowhere near the standards set by Valve, but I don't care. I want you to be as harsh as possible with your C+C, to help me improve. So without further ado, the screenshots! The entrance. The doors open independantly, but I think I know how to pair them. Main hall. I haven't finished putting in the bookshelves yet, but there will be more, to provide cover in firefights. I would also like to find out how to make certain objects unbreakable, as these shelves only can withstand a few shots so are rather useless. Staircase and locker area. I have yet to put the lights in the upstairs corridor. Upstairs office. For some reason, certain props (such as the keyboard and computer tower) do not collide with others in the multiplayer mode. The vent to the left allows access to some locked rooms. Explosion in the main hall. I am standing in the aforementioned upstairs corridor. Not going to bother with a video (I lost FRAPS and am not going to torrent it again. >>) or beta, as it's so close to completion. But as I said, say what you really think about it. EDIT: There we go, you should be able to see them properly now.

First three screens are missing apparently Anyways, it looks pretty good. I wish I could map in the SDK so I can do stuff for Garry's Mod (Waaaaaaaaaaay too complicated X.x)

I can see them just fine. It's a pretty good idea. I mean, personally, I've always kind of wanted to play laser tag/paintball in a school building, so a level set in a library would be cool.

I'm in the same position as Max... But what I can see looks pretty good.

It's good.
The white double doors don't suit the building.
Put some more props in.
Detailing on the walls, like vandalism and stuff.
Tis cool though. You never invite me into them games man D=

It's good. 1)The white double doors don't suit the building. 2)Put some more props in. 3)Detailing on the walls, like vandalism and stuff. Tis cool though. 4) You never invite me into them games man D= 1) I know. However, all the other door textures are surrounded by a black border that is a nightmare to take out. 2) That's a given really. 3) I've put things like notice boards and posters up so far. The only thing that annoys me is that all the graffiti is of HL2 characters, such as Breen and the Combine. 4) What games? I can't host servers.

K, I've retextured the front doors. They're still white, but they're now made out of metal, which suits it a bit better. I'm going to add more stuff such as benches and cycle sheds on the exterior.
It actually turns out those shelves are tougher than I gave them credit for. Machine gun fire is not really a problem, and it's only a direct double-blast from the shotgun or an explosive to destroy them in one shot.
I'm now in the process of fixing up texture alignment, as some brushes went very badly wrong when I was texturing them.

Looks cool, but yeah, the doors don't suit, and the outside is awfully plain.
