Can a PS3 controller be connected to a PC and be used to play games, kind of like the 360 Controller does?

I want to salvage files from my broken laptop before doing a system wipe. Can I boot Ubuntu off a DVD-R?

Yep. Although you can't access many things on the DVD-R Ubuntu, it does help enough to let you access your files and do a system backup. This is how my bros fix computers that need wipin'.

Okay then, how do I find the SSID of a network connection?
EDIT: Nevermind, I was dumb and temporarily completely forgot what the SSID is. >>
EDIT2: Does the Linux Google Chrome support Flash?

EDIT 2: Does the Linux Google Chrome support Flash? Yes. Installing Flash will make it available in all major browsers on Ubuntu. I personally recommend the open-source base Chromium over Chrome.

Does anyone here know of a good task organizer/to-do list software for numerous ideas and projects? I tried to use OpenOffice for my categorized to-do lists as .ODT files, by the way.
EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot I had already purchased the VIP Simple To-Do List CD.

I recently bought and installed half life 2:EP 1 and It works great, but the game is very choppy whenever I fight the gunship. I even tried putting all settings on low and it still doesn't work! Can anyone remedy this?
My specs are: Pentium dual core E5400 @ 2.7GHz 2 GB RAM

What graphics card are you using, if you have one? That's more likely to affect framerate than the CPU or RAM.

Probably none if he hasn't even mentioned one.

That'd explain it then. For a game like HL2: Ep1, the likes of a GMA won't cut it.
