Cheesy is finally endorsing an MMO for president, people. Recently, I've gone back to playing Guild Wars. It's a one-time fee of about $20, if memory serves, to sign up, and there are absolutely no monthly fees afterward. The game is heavily PvP-based, but the PvE manages to be entertaining as well. The idea of the game is that it's pretty difficult to solo, so you need to get a group for almost everything. However, every town has "henchmen", which are just AIs playing specific classes. They allow you to group without dealing with any assholes in the community. Most of the game revolves around acquiring new, more powerful "skills" as you complete quests and progress in level. Each skill does something unique for your character, but you can only equip eight at a time. Big strategy component there. There are currently three expansion packs out, which open new classes, skills, and areas to explore, but are entirely optional. If anyone is interested, the website is here, and my name in-game is Aqua Pyre.

I was going to post another ad for GW, but seeing how this one's still on the front page, it's probably better to bump it. I apologize if anyone is made butthurt by this act.
Play Guild Wars, fools.

I wouldn't mind paying a one-off fee for an MMO - it's just when they start charging monthly fees and stuff that gets me annoyed. That said I won't be playing as MMO's in general are too time consuming and are typically quite disappointing in the long run.
