I'd do this if it could hold my Private Server, but sadly, MySQL is server based, not web-based, so I'll have to stay with Dynamic DNSing. Edit: HOLY crap. Dedicated/VPS Prices are dirt cheap. Edit 2: 17.5% Tax? WTF? Edit 3: Wat. I need a british cell phone?

17.5% of £0 is still £0. >>
Edit: orite yeah, that's VAT, the thing I always moan about when about to buy stuff. IT'S A PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE YEAH? D:
Also, the offer might just be for UK residents? I'm not sure. You could try entering the US national code in place of the +44 bit with your own mobile.

If I was going to make a website, I'd have to get a domain name from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands off Australia. Why?

Sounds cool, but after a year you need to start paying for them...

Better than paying for the first year? >_>

Exactly that. And it's not even like you have to give them any credit information so they're not gonna start mysteriously pulling money out of your account. If you made any decent use of the domain name thereafter (i.e. it's on a site that draws a lot of traffic), then by that point paying the £1.18 yearly fee probably isn't going to be so prohibitive that you'd have to pack the site up.

Doesn't .tk host domain names for life or something?
Then again, trying to access a site with .tk is a nightmare (at least from my last experience, which was.... damn, nearly 2006? (It was definitely before I changed fron Neotails8762)

.tk (I forget what the original place name was) uses advertising for revenue. This is just a free registration for a year, apparently no strings attached.

Well whaddaya know. My .tk domain has finally kicked the bucket (I can tell because I no longer get an NTL Server error).
.TK domains stay up as long as there's a visitor every month or so. Guess the few people who checked my website enough for it to stay finally gave up.
