So sometimes when I'm working on the computer, I find myself randomly getting up and wandering around the house. Today I went and messed with an old electric piano for a bit. I started up the piano's generic rock rhythm, my finger slipped when I was making chords, and something clicked. After a short time transferring the contents of my brain to a blank MIDI file, this short little thing is what resulted. www.megaupload.com/?d=HOHJF6AO(Note: The percussion is a generic track that came with the MIDI program... Bleh.)

*shudder* Gah, MIDI is irritating. So... I, IV, Maj. VII, Iadd6... Eh, not bad. I don't really like the add 6 in that last chord though. Suspended fourth would sound better in my opinion. Example: ( If I analyzed the progression wrong, feel free to correct me, it's been known to happen ) Also what MIDI generator are you using, because I think you could do better.

It looks to me like I - IV - IM7 - I with a 4-5 suspension. However, that third chord is missing a third. Try putting one in.

The staff I wrote was transcribing his until the last one, which was demonstrating a sus 4 in place of the add 6. And you can't suspend a 5th, only a 4th and a 2nd. So it'd be a sus4-5 movement within a tonic triad. Also, the third isn't necessary, but it would color it better. It's just a nice little maj 7 triad right now. It can be left out here to maintain that really open triad feel that it has.

I was just going with what happened on the cruddy electric piano. Slightly updated version. www.megaupload.com/?d=OP59U2IMI guess I'll keep "Space Experimental" as the official name.

I'll listen to it later, because I'm going to go in a sec...And because Megaupload is irritating. Ever think of getting a Purevolume account?

You don't have to... it's the same as the score I sent you. I have too many accounts all over the place to take care of as it is... and besides, it's just one midi. On a slightly related note, I was experimenting with random Audacity stuff recently... load a song, duplicate it, shift the pitch of the duplicate down an octave, and add a generic reverb effect... Interesting in that it seems to add a bass choir-like effect even to songs that are instrumental. I tried it on the "Tunnel Scene - X" music from Brawl. I could almost make out words.
