Are you not able to convert them into a more common format, so I can just listen to them on Media Player? Because in all honesty, I've never heard of a .vgz file.

Uhm guys, there is Winamp and the in_vgm plugin to listen to these. If I converted them to another format they would loose quality: these files are recorded from the emulator itself.
