If all you did was swap colors into color that dont even LOOK that diffrent from the origional, and just add music, that it's not good. Dont relese it if that's all you have. I mean, even a one-level demo would be better if the layout was changed. I'm not expecting another Sonic 1 Megamix. I just want something more than a recolor singing a diffrent tune. I want something more than another Shadow. Summerised: AT LEAST CHANGE THE LAYOUT BEFORE RELEASEING NEXT TIME. |

I've never met anyone who flames someone as much as this.
I co-work with STE here, and I'm pretty damn amazed with his hacks.
Sure, he might suck at level layouts, not everyone likes doing them. But I love his music. It's pretty damn hard to do music like that.
I mean, he wanted to get the soundtrack and palletes sorted out first, so what?
That's basically what happened with Megamix. V2 and only had 2 zones with new layouts, and V1 only had Sunset Hill done. But the palletes and music where there.
At Sonic Retro, STE is liked because of the talent of music. Here, apparantly aren't at all fussed by music. The SMPS format has been cracked long ago, and loads of people are attacking it.
Layouts are important, yes, but, in my opinion, everything else should be done first, and then the layouts can be done.

I really don't see what the big issue is: The first relese is just a taste of what the game is, right? Well, shouldn't that taste be what the real deal be like? So if just one level was changed, I probably would give a more indeph analysis. But untill then, I don't see the big deal. |

I think coming onto this forum purely to say that isn't going to do you or STE any good among this community, and saying that he's liked somewhere else is not going to help either, all that'll do is dig yourselves in more. It's a community you have to get used to maybe, but it's hardly a big deal.
Alot of the complaints are likely to be because he is boasting about level changes and new sprites when nothing of the sort has been implemented yet, and getting himself into meaningless arguments.
Music, I wouldn't know myself, and I suppose most of everyone else here also has little idea of how easy or difficult it may be to add new music tracks, and the fact the rom link doesn't work doesn't help either. What D00D said also applies, perhaps have more work done first to make us more interested.
Also, both of you cool down and learn to take a freakin' joke, I hardly see anything about putting anyone down, seldom a really meaningful insult. What Cheesy said basically.
And if you can't cope with this, then, you'll have just proved my point.
