The Spore Creature Creator was released yesterday (I would've gotten it then but the internet crapped out on me) in two editions: A free version with 20% of the body parts, and the full version for about £5 (unless I was on the wrong site and it was $5 instead). I have the demo version right now (considering upgrading), and it's quite fun, and really easy to use. Anyways, you can find it here: www.spore.com/trial . And i'd like this topic to be one where everyone can post images of their creations. This one is my first creature: And this one is my third (my second one is best left unmentioned):

I'm not getting this for two reasons:
1. My graphics card sucks 2. It has SecuROM, which is a big NO for me.
And this makes me sad. ;_;

Ah, right, I meant to post a leak of the demo a few days back. Completely forgot, sorry, I'm sure you guys lived. Anywho, my crime against nature: Sorry, I meant floating crime against nature.

I'm suprised you was able to make that without going over the complexity/DNA limits...
I mean, I went over the limit just by having a four headed creature (necks included, each with one eye and two ears) with four legs.

It has no limbs, just weapons, eyes, grass and a mouth. It is a floating ball of poisonous, floating, camouflaged death. I think limbs cost a lot...

Curse you guy and your mid-to-high-to-super-high spec computers. Just... curse you. ;_;
FE: At least you have a graphics card. ;________;

You said that to Zae last time and he just had onboard graphics. >>
You should at least give the demo a try on low settings to see if it runs reasonably well for you before you dismiss it completely.

Apparently, the creatures you make with this thing will show up in the actual game, which worries me, considering /b/'s gotten a hold of it already. Still, I'll give it a try.

Cheesy, as far as I know, it's not a multiplayer game. It's just a randomly (procedurally) generated universe single player game.
You CAN however, choose to share you creations and download other people's off the interwebs in a fashion very similar to The Sims 2's. If I have this right, those creatures (aswell as randomly generated ones) will then roam around your universe.
So you don't have to worry about /b/ monsters unless you download them. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want every monster someone makes to be instantly downloadable, in case someone should somehow make something offensive with it.
EDIT: BTW, i've bought myself the new version. The Download Manager is being KIPPER though so it's taking numerous attempts for me to get the full version (internet keeps crapping out).

I think you'd be pretty hard worked to make much offensive with it aside from maybe a barbed grass covered ... Let's not go there.

I'm having a hard time getting the full version. I've downloaded it more than five times and it still loads up the limited demo.
Also, apparently it doesn't support IE7, Firefox, Mozilla, etc...only IE6...and IE6 won't install on 64-bit systems.
This time though i've uninstalled the trail version first, which actually made the "start download" button appear this time (as opposed to me having to seek out the download link), so i'm hopeful this time round.
