You may have noticed that I haven't posted an issue for just under 4 months. There is a very good reason for that. You see, as you saw in Issue 1.9, the sprites of the GUN soldiers and the Commander were in Cylent Nite style shading, and thus clashed with the Advance style background. The reason why I was using them was becuase no-one -- and I mean, no-one -- had thought of spriting these people in Advance style. (Not that there's anything wrong with CN-style, Iit just doesn't fit with Advance) I had a few (two) sprite requests and it didn't seem like they were going to be filled out anytime soon. Until one friend of mine linked me to a webcomic he fav'd on SJ, using wouldyoubelieveit, Advance style sprites of the previously mentioned characters. He asked the author where he found them, and he said that he sprited them himself, linking the sheets to him. My friend linked both the sheets and the comic (which I'm all uptodate with after three consectutive days of reading almost 1200 issues). Now, I've already PM'd the author about using the spritesheets, and he hasn't got back to me yet. tl;dr, WTBBFAHF can now continue:  Additional credits go to Kyle/Keith/whatever-he's-changed-his-name-to for helping out on Panels 2 and 9. Now I will try to update as regular as I originally did (fortnightly is a possibility), although as of next Monday -- 23/06/08 -- I will be starting work (yes, I'll actually have a job to go now), which means I won't be able to start work on the comic until at a guess, 7pm. I guess this is now where you guess when the next issue'll actually be done this year of next. xP |
