You should improve the foreground, ie. what they're supposed to stand on. That would make this somewhat more interesting and actually make people want to do so. For example, the foreground pieces have been enlarged. Use normal sized ones or something. Or maybe have half the background advance style, and split it into genesis style, so they don't look too out of place.
Maybe improve the text though.
Cool idea, too.
I wouldn't put yourself in the middle either, it looks a bit self worshippy.

I went last year. (I was only 11, mind.) This one person gave me a bag of Doritos, and an old woman (Who'd obviously forgotten it was Halloween.) gave me a pear, which turned out to be mouldy. So now I just like playing tricks on little kids that come to my door. >=D
