...I know this isn't exactly a sports audience, but the new season of the Australian Football League opens tomorrow so I thought I'd link to the AFL homepage: www.afl.com.auGo Magpies!

I don't like footy. ¬_¬; It must be weird living in Melbourne with your one hundred and one local teams, we only have the Eagles and Dockers, and there's plenty of rivalry between them...the Dockers can't win a game and the Eagles are all on drugs, so we don't have many options. Of course, Richmond can't win a game either. ^_^

Doomsday: they won tonight Tene: I knew it would. Just thought I'd share a passion of mine. Us Aussies have to put up with about twenty bloody UK and US cultural references we don't get per week. But to explain, I live in Melbourne which has 9 teams. Dooms lives in Perth, which has two, one of which has only in the past couple of years managed to go from completely rubbish to only a little bit rubbish, and the other one of which has done decent on the field but spent the better part of a year hopping from recreational drugs controversy to recreational drugs controversy. Therefore, she's kinda stuck for choice as regards teams to support. And Richmond are a Melbourne team that finished stone motherless last on the 2007 league table after winning a grand total of 3 of their 22 games for the season. Danju: It's not that kind of football. This is Aussie Rules.
