On SA2:B, my chao just evolved into a dark chao. First one I've had since my file got corrupted and I reset the info. The weird thing is its color. It hatched from a normal egg. Completely normal. However, it looks like a weird-colored Shadow chao. It's black with the Shadow-style spikes, and has shadow stripes, but the stripes are green. Another weird thing is that the spikes are bent multiple times. I don't know what's up with it. However, I have a suspicion that it's a Chaos chao. What do you guys think?
Edit: Upon further observation, its spikes are bent to look like Super Sonic from Sonic 2.
Chao stats from the health center:
Alignment: Dark
Type: Running
Grades:
Swim: C
Fly: D
Run: C
Power: B
Stamina: D

that is some strange crap, like my last chao on sa2:b i came out of the egg invisable and so i tried my best to raise and it evolved into a blob of glitched textures and then when it died, the biolizard vs shads battle just loaded for some wacko reason

I think I know what you're talking about. It's listed on Sonic-Cult as the Shiny White whatever-the-****-this-is chao.
Anyways, my chao is normal-looking...aside from the shadow-esque part. It isn't too weird. I'll admit that your chao is weirder, but do you think you know what mine is?
PS: I have a Knuckles chao on the game, which I got from Sonic-Cult. This help any?
PPS: I have a theory as to why it came out this way. I raised it almost completely with Shadow. I raised it a bit with Sonic, by feeding it the last bite of a Chao fruit with him. After that, its little ball thing turned purple and his body became black instead of maroon...I think it works like that in all aspects. Example: Raise a chao almost solely with Knux. Then, when it gets close to evolving, have Rouge feed it an entire fruit. Then, when it evolves, it will probably be a Knuckles chao...I'm not sure, though...

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. Is this a Shadow chao, or is it some weird glitch?

Okay. Just checked a guide on gamefaqs.com. It IS a Shadow chao, and during its second evolution, the stripes will gradually turn yellow, then orange, then red. I also found out that you can get a Sonic chao by raising a Hero/running/running type. Anyways, this topic is dead, now that I know what it is. Leave it be.

actualy cheesy, that is simply the dark running. i know what a shadow chao looks like (im tryin to get one. its currently yellow at the moment). its not as impressive as one thinks. now a chaos chao, well, get one of those, THEN we'll talk.  also, those grades aint to good. I'm sure Gees chao could own it. heck, im sure MY running dark chao could own it! ^^ |

Lay off, D. It's still in its first incarnation. Once it's reborn a couple times after evolving... it could have all S grades...so...OWNED!
Oh, and my chao has quite a bit of strength stats. 758 pwnz j00!
Edit: Just got an angel chao (AKA hero Chaos chao). In yo' face, D.
Yet another edit: About how long does it take for the chao to begin its second evolution? I'm anxious to get the full-fledged Shadow chao, and I've bought it almost 125 chao fruits to do so. (Yep. I'm filthy rich in rings)

heh. second evoloution is a different story. you need to encourage a new stat by force feeding the bugger more chaos drives. if you want a shadow chao, give the bugger hundreds of green drives. now, take the running stat it had when it evolved the first time, then multiply that by 3, and do the same to its stamina from when it evolved. those are the amount of levels you have to increase as a minimum. so gather up a ton of green drives, your in for a long haul.
