The series is over, yes, but there is still a fan following out there- it's just that most fans haven't managed to find the other people that actually like the show. It's like Futurama- it's over, but it still has a fan following, right?

It's like Futurama- it's over, but it still has a fan following, right? Wrong. Episodes that Fox and Adult Swim refused to air will be aired on Comedy Central in 2008, and a special DVD movie will be released in 2008, as well.

[/frikkincaptainobvious] What is this "IGPX" you speak of eitherwho?

It's an anime produced by Production I.G., the GITS people in collaboration with Williams Street, the ATHF people.
It's script is half written by Williams Street, half by I.G.
It also has an astoundingly good dubbing because of this.
The premise is that the year is 2049(2048 in the first season), and The IGPX, Immortal Gran Prix, is the biggest sport around. They've constructed whole cities for racing. The racing itself is with robots, at high speed with battling and such.
You may think of this as "just another giant robot series" but it isn't. The show is far more driven by character development and emotion than the actual racing, and suffice to say it's insanely well done. The races are done in CGI and are top-notch edge-of your seat stuff, and the plot is great.
Trust me, look around for the DVDs on Amazon/eBay/wherever, it's a keeper.

No F-Zero X? You poor, deprived child. Agreed. And Wipeout is kinda harder than F-Zero. >_> Both are challenging though. I would join, but I haven't watch IGPX in a while.
