I've seen that the Community Conversation Messages were nice back then, but why was it filled with random stuff now?

Yeah from what I gather, the forum started to go quiet some time after my "initial haitus" from this place, and that was less than 2-and-a-half years ago.  Damnit, I was the catalyst. ._. |

A lot of reasons. Hoaxing stopped being popular, a lot of the older members either grew up or moved on to other things, the main site would go unupdated for long stretches of time because Matt had some personal issues to attend to, the community became more insular so newcomers lost interest quickly, people didn't submit anything, and a self-defeating cycle of "No one's on, so why post?>No one's posting, so why go on?" etc.
Or because Hylan's the Fisher King of SV. That works too.

Oh, uh, hey guys, it's been a while. Cheesy's still kickin' it, though I prefer Steve now. I like to think I'm a nicer gent than the demonspawn that roamed the boards years back, but then I'm also in my twenties now significantly more handsome, so that may be part of it.
Y'all should get in touch with me to play some D&D some time; that game's the main reason I'm still in regular contact with some of you.

Drunk Steve finds civil to be a bit of an understatement. But he's cool with it.
But Steve has been playing D&D for eight years now. If he fails to easily teach someone to play the game, he'll be so distraught he'll stop referring to himself in the third person. My next campaign is slated to be my most epic, concerning the Fate Spider and his machinations. I'm excited.
Also hey this is Steve's last SV post in the UK woooooo!

I severely dislike all of you and that will never leave my memory... I came back here for the New Year and still am mystified to see anybody posting here. I hope that doesn't come across as particularly pessimistic but this place was a KIPPERS hole.
