This is a game I made as a part of the Tigsource's A Game By Its Cover competition, wherein we had to design a game based on a fake game cover. I chose the GramaGeddon cover from somethingawful.com's phake games 4.
You can see my thread on Tigsource here
The premise of the game is that you're a grandmother on a medication-induced psychotic rampage, and your goal is to run over as many pedestrians as possible within a time limit without destroying your car, whilst navigating through a maze-like procedurally generated city. There are also various sources of help (such as mechanics to repair your car), and hindrances (for example the disorienting temporary side-effects of your medication).
For more on how to play, you should read the README.htm file in the zip. It's called that for a reason! There are a couple of glitches in the game, the most noticeable of which is that when you run out of time the 'game over' text appears too far to the right. I might in the future update it with some different game play modes and bug fixes, for now I'm calling it a day.
Anyway:
Get it here:
gamejolt.com/freeware/games/arcade/gramageddon/3146/
But also before that, if you haven't already, you should install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable, which the game requires to run.
Drive! Drive! Drive! Eh, what? Drive you say sonny? I'll drive over you! This is GramaGeddon, the game where you are an elderly lady on a psychotic rampage. Attempt to kill as many innocent pedestrians whilst navigating through the maze-like procedurally generated city as possible before you either smash your car up too much or simply run out of time.
CONTROLS:
Up arrow: Accelerate
Down arrow: Brake/Reverse
Left/Right arrows: Steer
P: Pause (Note: Doesn't pause audio, press M for that)
M: Mute theme (not other audio, sorry!)
Escape: Quit game (not at title screen, again, sorry!)
Feedback is welcome, hope you enjoy it.
