The story so far: My brother used to be obsessed with MW2. So I went out and bought $60 worth of PS3 online points for him to purchase the map pack with (The map pack is something like, $21. The other $30 was for me to buy Afterburner Climax, which is $14.95). This never eventuated. Today he gives me the reciept and tells me to take the money. After redeeming my points, giving me a total of $45 to spend on whatever I want, I noticed that there is a slew of PS1 games you can download to play on your PS3... I never owned a PS1 as a kid, being the Nintendo fangirl. So the appearance of all these awesome games I've never played is a huge thing for me. I have $45 to spend, which is at least three games. The library's pretty big, so most of the good stuff is on there.
Here's what I'm tossing up buying. Please tell me which of these I should get, or recommend something else. Abe's Odyssee/Exodus ($8.45 each) Rayman ($8.45) FFVII, VIII or IX ($15.95 each) CTR ($8.45) Vagrant Story ($9.95) WipeOut ($8.45)
These are out of the question: MGS1 (already played) RA1 (have on PC)
Also, if there's any other stuff, not for PS1, you'd like me to get on PlayStation Store, let me know!

Not sure whether or not they're all on the Europe PSN, but Rayman 1/2 are really good, as are the first three Spyro the Dragon games (the 2nd one's the best, then the third, etc.). They're like SM64, except you're a dragon, which is always cool. Also, Moneybags is awesome.

Also, Moneybags is awesome. Couldn't agree better myself. I still have my Spyro: Year of the Dragon copy around here... ...what I can't find is my memory card. So long 100% complete data. As for the games Dooms suggested. Get Rayman. Just cushion your walls when you reach Band Land.

I loved FFVIII as a kid, and the Abe games are great. Also, Crash Bandicoot 3. ;D I have Vagrant Story, but I never really got into it.

Don't know if these are actually available on the Playstation Store, as I have them on the original hardware.
Wild 9. It defines 'hidden gem' (And a second disc as a gift cost me 20p on Amazon, should you choose to buy a PS1 in the future) Also, Wipeout 3 and Rollcage are a must, if they're available.
Non-PS1 games? Call me biased, but Wipeout HD/Fury looks almost sexual.

The Bust A Move series for PS1 were quite fun (especially 4).
Also, Bomberman World was awesome as well. Bad voice acting aside.

I've already played XX#reload, so I didn't see a need to play the first one.

I've already played XX#reload, so I didn't see a need to play the first one. There really is no need for anyone to play the first one. Really.

Yeah. I find that's usually the thing with fighting games. The exception being Killer Instinct.

Well, as I have mentioned, the PS3 can play PSX games, AND my granny is giving us a PSX she found at a garage sale, so provided I can pick up man of these games I'll be fine.

On the note of Spyro, while the PSX games are good, never buy or even play the isometric games. They will consume all that is pure within you.
