Huh, I based my know on some article I read on it's face tracking a while ago. My mistake. But it's not layered screens either. It's stereoscopic 3D imaging, where a 400x240 resolution image is rendered for each eye. Considering the DS Lite was based on ARM7 and 9 processing units, the 3DS could easily opt for an ARM11 based hardware, based on nVidia's Tegra chip or something. That has a lot of clout and is used in all these high end phones you see about. One difference is that Tegra can do HD output and the Wii (obviously) can't. herp So yeah, there's the possibilities of the mystical power within.

It'll have to render it multiple times. If the same image was fed to each eye, then it wouldn't be 3D.

All I know is that it's the kind of 3D screen where if you tilt it to the side you can actually see the different images layered on top of each other.
Whatever technology it uses, it doesn't change the fact that it's SMASHINGLY awesome. If the next Phoenix Wright game isn't 3D Capcom will pay dearly.
