I imagine the so-called "hardcore gamers" who dissed the Wii for it's motion controls must be doing some massive backpedaling right now if they're justifying the Natal and Move.

Most of them probably aren't bothering to justify it, as Move/Natal have one redeeming feature: You don't have to buy it to play the games on the system.

A couple of things to note.
A) The Playstation Move is much better at sensing z-depth than the Wii-mote due to it's Wand+Eye combo. That big shiny ball on the end? The Playstation Eye very simply checks how big it is and then translates that as Z-depth.
B) The "nunchuck" as of now has no motion sensing, it's purely there as an analogue stick. This could change before final release.
C) THE NUNCHUCK AND THE PS MOVE ARE NOT CONNECTED BY ANY WIRES. This is the one thing that truly pisses me off about the Wii-mote + Nunchuck; getting flicked in the face by the wire.
D) Due to the Playstation Move working off the Playstation Eye, you can point the controller off-screen without it losing it's tracking, making Light Gun games slightly less annoying than on the Wii.
E) Apparently the controls are a little laggy right now, but it is pre-alpha technology.
F) Super imposed weapons. This really only applies to the one party game they have right now, which uses both the Move and the Eye. Like the ol' Eyetoy games, you see yourself on the screen. Unlike the ol' Eyetoy, it'll change the Playstation Move in your hand to look like random objects such as tennis rackets and foam fingers. The Foam Finger in particular wobbles when you shake it, and when it wobbles the Playstation Move vibrates in such a manner to match it's movements.
G) The Shoot, the light gun game. It doesn't only use the Playstation Move for point and click shooting, but it also tracks your own body movements using the Playstation Eye, allowing you to lean to the sides to avoid enemy fire, or to get a better shot at an enemy hiding behind a hostage.
H) And finally, the coloured ball. Why? To make it easily readable. The Playstation Eye will take a screeshot of the background, and then use the colour information to assign a colour to the Playstation Move's ball that isn't already being used by the background (e.g A room with Green and Blue wallpaper might turn the ball Red, so it can be seen clearly against the background).

Note I said "if they're justifying the Natal and Move" Since it appears that you're not justifying the Natal and Move, then you wouldn't have to backpedal on your stance on the Wii.

Well, also Natal and the Move appear to work much better than the Wiimote, so...

Can we just agree that it exists, and that everything in gaming is simply neutral?

So this is pretty funny. And makes fun of the Power Glove and Wiimote. Woo?
