The set up I chose at OcUK just got cheaper due to a new set of weekly deals, FYI.
I'm so bored. This apathy of mine has me reading an ASUS catalogue sent to me from OcUK themselves with some of my recent orders... *sigh*

I guess you don't want me calling you on Skype or something, right?

Not playing Shogun 2 is actually ruining my mental state.
This is awful.

PC components are all ordered. Someone told me of a voucher code that gives you free shipping, so all that came to £556. Honestly, that was the most money I've ever spent in one transaction. and if anyone wants the voucher code, i can happily supply it; it is reusable ;)

Nice one, you'll enjoy your new machine.
I'm still waiting for the right time for me to get something new. Shouldn't be long now...
(Also I get free shipping as a loyal customer there anyway, but thanks for the spoiler offer)

Well, Windows 8 is due to be released in October (although from what I've seen I don't like the look of it), so sometime around there might be a good time.
Oh, one other thing: I'm assuming OcUK supplies the fans and thermal paste with the mobo/CPU, since I have neither of them (and I doubt I can use the ones off this old thing)...?

If you bought a retail boxed processor it should come with a heatsink+fan with thermal material already applied to it. (You're fine).

I just found a really old Sonic 2 hack that I used to work on. It's a little buggy in places (and very basic, too), but I'm actually tempted to resume work on it..

Just don't go composing any music for it.

lololol It's only a palette/layout hack. (and eitherway, I'm moving away from using the PS1 version of that program because of the whole "recording from an emulator" - The PC version can actually export the whole thing as WAV, which means I can use it as a drum machine and add my own guitar to it (especially now I've found a setting on my amp that makes it sound like a bass))

MTV music generator huh?
Yeah to be honest it's a SMASHINGLY huge improvement over whatever I've heard from you before. Probably needs some EQ and level tweaking but yeah.
Man I wish I had the time to make some music.
Also what the BLARGH is up with the crash all the time.

MTVMG and Music 2000 the exact same program - it's just what it's called over in the US. The only downside to using the PC version, is that there's no reverb like there is in the PS1 version. I can kind of get a workaround in Audacity by duplicating it, putting a High-/Low-Pass Filter, delaying it by a tiny fraction of a second (like, 0.00001 seconds), and having it a lot quieter (around -9dB). Unfortunately, I can't really EQ right now: I still mix everything in Audacity, which means any sort of effect I apply changes the waveform (not to mention, the EQ in Audacity is horrible to use). Leveling I'm kind of alright with, since I can use Audacity's Envelope Tool to change little segments of audio here and there. I just make sure it doesn't clip. Also, the reason the crash sounds a little wierd is because there's no sample for a china cymbal.. so I figured that a lower-pitched cymbal would sound similar (What can I say; I'm not a drummer ). I think next time, I'll have the overheads lower in the mix.
