You folk seem to know your way around video games, and I'm still playing a few of the RTSes you guys recommended.
With that said, let's get in another round of games. This time, the genre is RPGs. No MMOs if you please, I'm rather full on those lately.
I'm currently playing the Thief series as well as Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2.
Thief is a game entirely centered on stealth, as the name suggests. You've got an arsenal of special arrows, a dagger, and a sap. Combined with these and a talent for thievery (and some woefully incompetent and rather violent security), your goal is to steal some of the most valuable items in the city.
Neverwinter Nights, as I'm sure you guys are aware, is an adaptation of the Dungeons and Dragon rules with a computer playing the role of DM. NWN1 was released in 2002 and has three official expansion packs available. Its graphics are of expected quality for its era, but it's a fantastically-made game with an engrossing story for all three expansion packs. NWN2 was released in 2006 and has a nice story, if an inferior interface. A third expansion pack was released last year for the game, so it's about as deep as NWN1.
Those are my recommendations. What do you guys suggest?

A description of the game to go with it would be great.

Earthbound is like your average turn-based RPG, 'cept it's SET IN THE NINETIES! Your weapons are Baseball bats and yo-yo's instead of Bows, swords, etc. You control a Kid Hero named Ness in a mission to save the earth from aliens. It all starts mellow, funny, sweet, cool and catchy, but later on you get to see some evil Eldritch abominations that will cout as Nightmare Fue--did I actually mention 3 tropes in that paragraph?
Another good one, If you like 4th wall breaks, is the Paper Mario series. Although they're a bit on the easy side ('Cept for TTYD, the sequel, which is the strongest title of the series) it does have its ammount of humor and whatnot.
Next up is Dark Cloud. This RPG is more on the Zelda-side of RPG's, so no turn-based action. Your hometown gets blown to smithereens by a genie and you're the only survivor (Well, the Mayor doesn't count) of it. You have to enter dungeons, recover the Pokéball-type containers that hold the people and their housing, and re-build your town. After that, it comes the obligatory "The genie has attacked other parts of the world! Are you a bad enough dude to restore those towns?" The fun fact about the game is the little things that make the games' storyline stand out, like, for example, the townsfolk would like to have their homes on X side of town, so you can just re-build them and do them a favor, rewarding you in return. Or for example, when you finish building your home by adding the final piece (a cat) said cat becomes a party member due to something that happened previously on the game, etc. I highly recommend it.
And finally, some titles of the Final Fantasy series. I'll just leave it as there.
Ok, I'll tell you which ones. VIII X Crystal Chronicles - Best enjoyed multiplayer/with a GBA-GC adapter and a GBA, but still pretty fun in single player. Again, it's not a turn-based game as it's more in the vein of 4-swords Adventures.

Oblivion
It don't give a sh*t if you don't complete the main quests. Hell, I've been playing it about a year, and never once have done any of the story quests. It's your typical western RPG with swords and orcs and the like.
Which brings me to...
Fallout 3
Basically just read the paragrah on Oblivion again but swap "swords and orcs" with "assault rifles and irradiated mutant zombies".

Deus Ex - Rather old, but it's an FPS with a damn good story and RPG elements that don't feel tacked on at all. If you don't know it by now, you should definitely try it.
Lunar: Silver Star Story - This one is very, very nice. At first glance it looks like generic 2D RPG fare (and it fairly is), but it's very nicely done, the translation makes the whole story very fun and overall I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the Auto-fight function, which saves you a hell of a lot of time if you end up wanting to grind. I normally detest RPGs and this is one of the few I rather liked along with Earthbound.

Someone recommended it to me like three weeks ago, and I played it nonstop. It's practically endless.
Hell, I'm thinking of playing it again and see if I can manage a different story path eventually, though I got what would be, in my opinion, the best story and ending.
Also, you might have a bit of a problem running Deus Ex at a correct speed and with decent sound. Just set the main EXE to Windows 98 compatibility mode, and in the sound options in the game, enable "Hardware sound" or some such. The quality improves dramatically.

Reminds me to actually PLAY Deus Ex. I bought it a while ago, along with its sequel.
Maybe when I get the free times.

If you like the Paper Mario series, you'll probably like the Mario and Luigi series as well. The 2nd one isn't as good as the others, though. The first and third games in the series have you exploring a big overworld, solving puzzles, and beating the hell out of things. The 2nd game has no open world, and instead of a big world to wander through, you get a "home world" and then you just go off to the different "levels" of the game.

I think you'll like the Shin Megami Tensei games. hardcoregaming101.net/megaten/megaten.htmPages you should read: Second part of page 2 Page 7 Page 8 Page 9 Most epic RPG series ever. Seriously, what other game can you think of that starts with the end of the world (SMT: Nocturne).
