*barges in* I swear I'm innocent! I wasn't even there when Ben was killed. Please, you have to believe me! (Using Terry's Sprite because he's awesome )

The defendant will refrain from reminding me of one of the most depressing moments in the entire series. (No spoilers, guys, some people here haven't played the games yet)

How can the blood on the handle of the bat be unidentified? If there was another person at the scene that we don't yet know, there is no way that Eco can be declared guilty. Without determining who that person is, we can not fully know how the crime played out!
Regarding the spot of CC's blood on the top of the bat, was he struck with the bat as well? If he was hit in the head by the murder weapon, I must call into question CC's capabilities as a reliable witness!

Hmm... The defence raises a good point! Hearing CC's testimony would probably help us clear a few of these matters.

I take it witnesses have to wait to be called by the prosecution, as in the real game.

At this time I'd like to call Cool Corky to the stand, Your Honor.

Thank you Mr. Xad. As the kind and extremely handsome prosecutor over there mentioned, I am Martin Coulus Corkly IV, but you can call me Cool Corky, or CC. I am a freelance photographer, but that isn't really important. The important part is that I know the defendant, and I can also testify that he murdered Ben Stone!

Alright. Witness Testimony The day of the murder On the day of the murder, I was going to meet with a friend. I went to his house at about 7AM, but he wasn't in, so I decided to go to the park. I naturally had my camera with me, so I decided to walk around the park taking pictures of things like the trees and the lake in the light of dawn. Then, at about 7:45, I saw Eco and Ben sitting on a park bench. It looked like they were having a pretty heated argument, too. It looked like things were about to get violent, so I just had to rush in and try and break the two up. Just as I did that, though, Eco jumped up and brandished the baseball bat that was lying on the bench beside him! He struck me in the mouth with it, and knocked me out cold. I must have been out for about half an hour. When I came to, both Eco and Ben were gone, and I could hear police sirens off in the distance. I quickly picked myself up, dusted myself off and went home.

I'd like a bit more info regarding your testimony. As I'm told, there was a blood splotch on the murder weapon that is, as of yet, unidentified. I'd like to know what friend you were visiting, because anyone related to your group of friends may yet be a suspect. Also, you say you were knocked unconscious for at least a half an hour? And when you awoke, neither my client nor Ben Stone were at the scene? So what you're telling me is that, not only were you not a witness to the crime, you can't possibly have even been at the actual scene of the crime? If my client had killed Ben Stone, and it had been following this argument, would you not have found Ben's body on the ground not far from you? This is all, of course, a mere formality. In truth, there's absolutely no way you could even have seen Ben Stone in that park. According to this autopsy report, Ben Stone's last breath was sometime between 4 or 5 AM, meaning he was a corpse several hours before he allegedly appeared in the park you happened to be strolling through. How exactly do you explain that, Cool Corky?

Witness Testimony Time of the murder Well, you see, I've never been one to pay attention to the time. I don't wear a watch, so I just guess what time it is based on the light level. Of course, this time of year, it's difficult to determine what time is by just looking at the daylight. It could have been 4, it could have been 8. There was really no way to tell.
