A black cloud drifted over the small town of Derus, located deep within the Carpathian mountains. A sinister presence crept through the streets, nigh-invisible to the naked eye. Any who followed it would see it enter three houses without so much as opening the door. A scream rang out from each house, quickly silenced. These three, despite the aid of paramedics, quickly died from blood loss, despite almost no blood being found near the attack site. However, after the funerals were held for these three, a horrific thing occurred. They rose. As the death toll mounted from the attacks of these walking corpses, a commitee was created containing 14 citizens of the town. "We have little choice," said Matt, the leader of the tribunal and mayor of the town, "but to attempt to root out and kill these vampires by a vote. Each day, I will collect a vote from each of you regarding who we must kill. This person will be staked through the heart before you. We can only hope that our judgment is good enough to stop the vampires with minimal loss of our countrymen. Good luck, and God save us all."
With that, Matt took his seat, and the mad chatter of the voting began.
