NOTE: THIS GUIDE WILL NOT WORK FOR REAL ONLINE SERVERS. THIS IS TO CREATE SERVERS FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS.First of all, all players will need Hamachi. Step 1: Start up Hamachi and follow the instructions. You should get a Hamachi IP address used for connecting to you. Step 2: Join a channel. I made one specifically for Sonic Vegemite, this can be used for any Source game, it works for all of them. Network: Sonic Vegemite Password: SVMB If you are the one that's going to create a server, go to step 3a, if you are going to join the server, go to step 3b. Step 3a: Start up your Source game and choose Create Multiplayer. Set up everything you need. Step 3b: Open your Source game, go to Play Multiplayer, go to the favourites tab, right click, Add server by IP address. A new window should open up. Enter the Hamachi IP address of the one who made the server and choose Find games at this address. You should find a game and be able to join it. This worked for me, hope it works for you guys. EDIT: Oh and if any of you are asking what Hamachi is, and what it does, I've gotten several different answers to that question. <Mgbenz> Online Lan emulator. <Machinaweapon> Proxy network. <bebop> It's a room like this but everyone has an IP which you could connect to So yeah, pick your favourite explanation.

So... who else did you try this with?
Oh, and I assume we want the non-commercial version.

I tried it with 3 different people. All of which you don't know. And if you want their names, Anjel, Flakhammer and Jesuszilla. Oh and yeah take the noncommercial version

So, tried it out on Gmod with Therio.
First time I've ever hosted a working server. It was a little laggy to start with, but soon got better. A good little program here. Use it.

But everyone uses Hamachi to host a local server when the game won't do it usually.

Actually, one little thing I should point out:
As long as you state in the server name that Hamachi is required, you could host a local or even dedicated server that anyone else with Hamachi can connect to.

I've had Hamachi for a while now, since CnC Generals Shockwave needed it for online gaming.
Not a bad little program at all.

I used Hamachi for Age of Empires 3 the past 2 or so years. It then sprung to me if i ever had Source problems I could use it (Though I hardly did... Except for a certain type of L4D I own >>)

Yeah you were always the one that DID have the power to create servers.
Had a 3 player game today. Was fun until I decided to fire a clusternuke at one of them and I crashed the server. >>;

Sure I created servers. I didn't have Hamachi on, and none of you guys had it then either
