SV, I have a question of great importance. You see, I was thinking of continuing our TS2 house, because, well, I SHOULD do it. I attempted to recreate the Vegemite family... ...Should I go ahead with this?

I agree with Tené.
... I never contributed anything to it, but I enjoyed reading it. =P

FE, get yourself the AwesomeMOD (google "AwesomeMOD The Sims 3", tis on a website called "More Awesome Than You").
It's basically the ultimate hack for the game, and allows many a cool thing (all are customisable from the online customiser).
-It allows you to keep your wishes/promises/opportunities in tact when switching houses, allowing you to play as multiple families without worry. -Stops the sims from smiling in the CAS, so you can actually go and make a good sim and know what it'll look like in the game (cause they don't smile 24/7 in the game, just in the CAS). -Allows you to go overboard on the facial sliders up to x5. Allows for the creation of more unique faceshapes. -NO CD. If you load the game from the TS3.exe and not the Launcher, you won't need the CD. -Disable story progression. Guess what, the "Enable/Disable Story Progression" option in the normal options screen DOESN'T WORK! Tis a major bug which has yet to be fixed by EA. Until then, AwesomeMOD comes with it's own version. -Stops sims from dying or being fired at random off-screen purely for story progression. They'll now only die or be fired through NORMAL MEANS. -Same with babies, there won't be any random parentless babies being created offscreen. -Also allows you to stop sims from moving out of the neighbourhood (never to be seen again) on their own accord. They'll stay in the neighbourhood until they die. -Automatic debug mode, allowing you to use cheats such as "lifetimehappiness" for 50,000 lifetime happiness points on the selected sim. Note that debug is different from "testingcheatsenabled true". -Stops sims from idling about if they have something in their queue. -Stops sims from throwing a strop when their path is blocked.
It does a lot more, and like I said, most are configurable. Seriously, not only does it make playing the game better, but i'll probably also help you with your let's play.
Also, get yourself to modthesims.info, find the TS3 downloads section, and download the camera hack. It allows you to go closer to the ground as well as other things, so you can get better shots that way. You can also download a very accurate sim version of Paris Hilton for you to torture.

I was already aware of the Awesomemod and I even tried to install it yesterday, but sadly, I cannot, because I'm playing TS3 on a PC where I have no admin priviledges and thus cannot install the Install Helper Monkey Thing.

You don't need the install helper monkey. Just download the "framework.zip" from the same page, does the same thing.
