You'll have to forgive me as I haven't played XX for a while (despite it being my favorite level xD) but shouldn't the small piece of the robots arm that's in front of the rising platform be BEHIND the rising platform?

Nope. I don't think anyone will get it, so I'll just tell you.
The part of the HUD that's over the laser should be lit up. The laser it top layered, even over the HUD.
